The Ballad of Lucy and Renee

by Albuquerque Annie

Okay! I finally have a good one in me. "The Ballad of Lucy and Renee" is an actual song with both music and lyrics by me. NOTE: Lucy and Renee are hardly "girls." They're ladies in the finest sense of the word, but the syllabic pattern was not good. Oh, well, here it is with my favorite howling partner, AlphaDog, joining me with the last two lines of each verse and the tag, and Jett joining in the chorus and playing one of the guitars (I play the other).

(slow-medium swing rock bordering on the jazzy)

"The Ballad of Lucy and Renee"

Lucy was a special girl
From New Zealand.
She could act, and she could sing.
She did 'most everything.
The reason people liked her so,
She was down-to-earth,
And if she hasn't figured out by now,
I hope she knows we love her.

Renee was a special girl
From out Texas way.
She made me laugh; she made me cry.
Sometimes I didn't know why.
She was just like Gabrielle,
A real salt-of-the-earth,
And if she hasn't figured out by now,
I hope she knows we love her.

And if they haven't figured out by now,
I hope they know we love them.

Thanks, AD!!!!!!! Thanks, Sis!!!!!!!!!!! I had a terrific time!
